The singer surprised her fans on Saturday night with her new song, ‘thank u, next’ opening up about her past breakups.

Grande gets very personal with the song with the lyrics mentioning the main relationships she went through.

Thought I’d end up with Sean
But he wasn’t a match
Wrote some songs about Ricky
Now I listen and laugh
Even almost got married
And for Pete, I’m so thankful
Wish I could say, “Thank you” to Malcolm
‘Cause he was an angel

As you can see, in the first verse Grande is opening about some of the four men that were her most meaningful relationships. The song follows her breakup with comedian Pete Davidson with who she was engaged during the summer.

Following up in the second verse, Grande sings about how she has met a new person and ‘her name is Ari’ meaning that she is moving on with herself and looking to spending some alone time with herself before jumping back into a new relationship.

Plus, I met someone else
We havin’ better discussions
I know they say I move on too fast
But this one gon’ last
‘Cause her name is Ari
