And guess what? It’s as educational and meaningful as it is cheesy.
Actress Haley Lu Richardson and actor Cole Sprouse both star in ‘Five Feet Apart’, which tells the story of stereotyped teenager Stella who’s only difference from her best friends is that she spends most of her time in a hospital as a cystic fibrosis patient. Her life is full of routines, boundaries and self-control until she meets fellow CF patient named Will. Of course, instant flirtations and restrictions follow up which will then lead to health complications to both patients.
The movie seems to be a very emotional one where both of them must learn what it really means to live with their condition.
What’s cystic fibrosis?
Well it’s the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. At present, there is no cure.
CF causes various effects on the body, but mainly affects the digestive system and lungs. The degree of CF severity differs from person to person, however, the persistence and ongoing infection in the lungs, with destruction of lungs and loss of lung function, will eventually lead to death in the majority of people with CF.
