If there’s three little things to know about me is that I love old school rock music, I’m growing a passion for local businesses and finally, I’m obsessed with coffee.
Now, of course, it’s easy to find coffee shops near where I live (Port Credit has its share of Starbucks, Second Cups and all these popular brands) but it’s always refreshing to see a little coffee shop accompanied with charm and locals talking with each other instead of a room full of people stuck on their phones and laptop – quite ironic that I’m writing this as I’m currently sitting in the corner of that particular coffee shop I’m writing about with my laptop and phone surrounding me.
All of this to say that I finally found the perfect little coffee shop that will fulfill my Christmas romantic fantasy. (I’m stressing this idea because Iris by Goo Goo Dolls is currently playing through the speakers and it’s probably one of the most romantic songs I’ve ever heard.)
So, as I was saying before I abruptly interrupted myself, Archtop Music Bistro is my latest discovery that I couldn’t be happier of.
The little business was originally a music and coffee shop in Caledon, Ontario, and moved to Port Credit three years ago as a music bistro. From coffee, to ice cream and finally lunch – this place serves it all.
But the coolest part of the bistro is their back area filled with an impressive collection of vinyls for only $5 each.
I really love the idea that they give music such an importance to their bistro. So far I’ve been here for only 25 minutes and I haven’t seen anyone on their laptop or anything. Everyone is coming in groups, having fun conversations, laughing and having a good time it seems.
This is what I’m talking about – the idea that these people are supporting their local coffee shops and making it come alive is just beautiful to see! If you are ever around Port Credit, I highly recommend that you come check out this place.
