Marc Martel, is no stranger to Queen fans. His parkour with the legendary band started in 2011 when he auditioned to be part of Queen’s official tribute band, Queen Extravaganza. He was chosen by Brian May and Roger Taylor and also participated in the Queen biopic movie.
A little bit before Malek started to work as Freddie for the movie, Marc went at Abbey Road to record his own vocals. Marc told Noise11.com a little bit about the experience. “The way it works in movies the actor will perform their part based on the music. All of the music was prepared before shooting. It was fun, demanding, it could a little bit tedious at times but it was all very good and all very worth it”.
The producers of the movie mixed Martel’s vocals with the original Queen tracks as well.
If you are curious about Martel’s voice, check out some of his amazing covers down below:
Crazy Little Called Love
Somebody To Love (watch Celine Dion’s reactions… they’re amazing – she’s totally in awe of his talent!)
And his most recent one, Bohemian Rhapsody
I personally think he would be an amazing addition to the actual band, Queen, but Adam Lambert currently has the title.. Anyways, I’m totally crushing hard on him and fangirling – definitely.
